嘉宾简介:

Prof. Dr. Iain H. Woodhouse is a professor of Applied Earth Observation at Edinburgh University, Scotland, UK. He is the Head of Institute of Geography and the Lived Environment. He is the CEO of Carbomap Ltd, a forest mapping company. He is the chair of the UK Space Agency Earth Observation Advisory Committee since 2017; he is the Selected member of SoXSA (Scottish Centre of Excellence in Satellite Applications) since 2014; he was the invited member of the BIOMASS SOTR evaluation panel, European Space Agency in 2014; he was the invited member of the UK Space Agency’s National Space Technology Strategy Steering Group (this group reported to the Space Leadership Council chaired by The Minister for Uni & Science, David Willetts). He is the author of the well-known textbook in Microwave Remote Sensing, Introduction to Microwave Remote Sensing, in 2006. He leaded /participated in domestic and international research projects, including UK Space Agency funded Forests 2020 International Partnership Programme project; or LTS International. Remote sensing consultant and capacity building expert on “Satellite Monitoring for Forest Management” project; or Forestry Showcase project, Space Applications Catapult, looking at applications and commercialisation of SAR data through a data-cube infrastructure. He is the author/co-author of 9 books. Especially, he is the author of “Introduction to Microwave Remote Sensing”, “13 Short Chapters on Remote Sensing” and “101 Top Tips for PhD Students”.
